Camping Adventure

We FINALLY went camping.
I think it's been 2 years since we've been.
Daddy found this amazing little cabin out in this beautiful little spot surrounded by trees.
The kids loved exploring around.
The cabin smelled a little funny, like a dead skunk, but the smell disappeared when we opened the windows and doors.

After setting up a bit and relaxing, we took off to go to Utah's biggest cave.
A lot of the cave was blocked by big tree logs.

There were so many little caves the kids explored and hiked through.
Even Possum and Mira, our dogs, had quite the hiking adventure.
Possum did not like the steep inclines we hiked up.
We had to hike clear around to get him up.

The camp fire was the fondest memory.

Poor Grant got burned by the fire.

We made tinfoil dinners, which took about 1 1/2 hours to cook, but they were YUMMY!!!
We sang lots of campfire songs and Daddy came up with the best songs to sing.

Daddy made a delicious breakfast of pancakes and eggs.
While Daddy and I were cleaning up, Noah and Joyanne came running to us.
When they approached we saw 2 arrows stuck in a pheasant.
They had been trying all day, yesterday, to hit a pheasant.

When they actually brought it to us, they were sorry to have shot it and see it die.
We taught them the purpose of hunting for food to eat and not just for the sport of it.
They were hoping we could cook it over the fire and eat it, but it was too small and we didn't have time.
So our camping adventure was a success and we can't wait to get our camper and go more next year.

We took quite a few pictures, but they are all on Daddy's phone.
He has been working so many nights in a row that I haven't had a chance to get them uploaded.
Now they are finally uploaded. :)
