Piano Recital

Joyanne and I combined our piano students and had a piano recital.
I teach all my sons, and tonight, they all played so well.
I was very pleased.

I played a duet with Grant, "Old MacDonald".

Joyanne played so beautifully as well.
Her talents continue to excel as a pianist and a teacher.

Her students played "I Love Pickles, I Love Cheese" all together.

The recital went so well and was very enjoyable.

Happy Birthday, Joyanne!

Joyanne turned 15 years old this last Saturday.
She reminded Daddy and I that next year she could date!
She is sure growing up.
She got a phone where she will pay the monthly bill.
Her cousin, Bree, have her this fun poster full of candy.

She chose a peanut butter chocolate brownies with chocolate frosting and mini Reeses on top.
It was all sooooooooo delicious!
We went to General Women's Conference with a friend and some family.
Overall, it was a happy day!

Happy Birthday, Jaden!

Jaden turned 10 years old.
He liked the new Pokemon he got along with Webelos scout stuff.

Jaden missed school so we could take him to the Park and Hogle Zoo.
Grant came along too.

At the park, Jaden was great at running around the spinning wheel.

At the zoo, we loved watching the monkeys in particular, but the other animals were fun too!

Abravanel Hall

We met with Jade's cousin, Tyson, and went to see Joyanne perform with the Northern Utah Youth Symphony at Abravanel Hall.

They played marvelously well.

Joyanne has really loved playing the violin with the symphony and has improved a lot this year.

Tyson was so awesome and gave James a nice, new set of scriptures with a scripture bag, hymnbook, marking pencils and a picture of the Savior.
We took Tyson to lunch at the Nauvoo Cafe.
We enjoyed spending the day with him.

District Spelling Bee Winner

Jaden tied for 1st place in the District Spelling Bee.
He spelled every word correctly except scintillation, but then the girl spelled it wrong too.
So they were able to keep going and they spelled the rest of the advanced words correctly.
The top 10 spellers received a trophy of some sort.

Jaden's principal was very happy for Jaden.

Jaden was pretty nervous as he kept spelling, but the letters just kept coming out correctly.

He was #11 in line, but he became the #1 speller.
He studied about every night for an hour or two.
All his studying paid off!
Way to go, Jaden!!!

Immunizations

Hiram and Grant had their immunizations from the doctor.
We had to wait a long time for them to get the immunizations all ready, about an hour.
So we played "Spot It" card game I brought, and guess the flavor of the Skittle, and Don't Eat Pete, and car racing.
I couldn't believe my purse had so many activities.
I even brought a harmonica and we played with that.
When the kids got their shots, I put the harmonica by their mouth and when the needle went in they blew on the harmonica fast and it helped distract them from the pain.
It was pretty funny, really, to hear them blow in and out on the harmonica.
Now these boys are ready for school.

James' Baptism

James and his cousin, Timothy, were baptized as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They also received the best gift they could have ever received: the gift of the Holy Ghost.
It was a special day for both of these boys, filled with lots of family and delicious food.
We were so happy and grateful for all the family and friends who came, and also to those who helped with food.
It was such a happy day!

Happy Birthday, Noah!

Noah celebrated his birthday today because of James' baptism tomorrow.
He was happy to get a new basketball and some scout pants.

He spent a good part of the day playing "Super Mario Kart" and other electronics.
He also went with Dad and some of his brothers to shoot some hoops at the church gym.
Tomorrow Noah will officially be a teenager!
Happy 13th Birthday!
