Visiting Grandpa and Grandma June 2021

Hiram is a pretty good driver.
He drove us in June 2021 to Utah during rush hour and drove like a pro.

Good we have Hiram to get us safely where we need to go.

We loved our visit last summer to Grandma and Grandpa's in Utah.
We spent a few days doing fun activities.
We had a talent show where we sang, played the piano, and recited poems.
We had a movie night.
And, we went to Leatherby's for ice-cream.

We had such a fun memorable time spending time together.

 

Museum of Idaho & District Champion

On Thursday, we went to the Museum of Idaho in Idaho Falls and learned lots about Genghis Khan.
There were lots of neat artifacts to see.

Grandpa, Dad, Jaden, Hiram, and James are here in the picture.
Mom and Grant were also at the Museum.

They had some singers playing Mongolian instruments.

Last weekend Jaden took 3rd in Original Oratory at District Debate.
He took 1st place and was District Champion in Extemporaneous Speech.

This was Jaden's first speech tournament to try Extemporaneous Speech and he won as District Champion!

All of Rigby did well and took 1st place at Districts.

Way to go, Jaden and way to go, Rigby!

Idaho State Debate Tournament

State Debate was in Meridian, Idaho this year.
We drove about 5 hours by bus.
We stayed in a nice hotel suite with king size beds.

Noah and Jaden made it to State Debate Championships
They didn't place at this tournament, but it was a good experience.
Rigby High School ended up taking 2nd place at State as a whole, which broke a 5-year running streak of them being in 1st place.
Highland High School took 1st, which is Rigby's rival.

Paxton had fun shining peoples shoes the first night.
He's a fun, crazy kid and ended up winning 1st Place in LD for State.

Happy Birthday, Jaden!

What a day!

Noah, Jaden and I got home from State Debate in Meridian, Idaho this morning bright and early at 5am.

Jaden was sick with a fever and lost voice and a little congestion.

He slept for a good part of the day.

We have decided to celebrate most of his birthday on Saturday.

But, he did get presents.

On Wednesday, this last week, he received 2 early presents.

He got a laptop carrying case, and a laptop stand.

Today Jaden received a Harry Potter journal with a steel feather pen, and some Harry Potter candy.

Overall, his birthday went all right, considering.

Bounce House Blast June 2021

The city of Rigby hosted a parade and party at the park in June 2021.
They asked us to come set up our bounce house.

We let the kids run the bounce house, and as a reward, they were able to go buy treats from other vendors.

Everyone seemed to really enjoy the bounce house and had fun.

 

Animals June 2021

We looked after Joey and Amber's dogs while they went on vacation in June 2021.
Taffy and Scout were fun dogs to have over.

We hadn't been to the zoo in a long while.
It was nice to go and see the animals.

This monkey seemed enthralled with watching Jaden solve his Rubik's cube.

And, we got another puppy in June 2021.
This one was meant to be bred with Piper.
One day while I was giving all the dogs a bone, Daisy attacked this new little puppy, Comet, and killed it. Jaden, James, and I cried and were very sad about this incident.
I lost quite a bit of money from this puppy dying.

June 2021 Baptism and Falls

Grandpa loves to spoil us with donuts every once in a while, especially when they are on sale.

Fabricio was baptized in June 2021.
James and Grant were able to be there to support their cousin.
Henry is their age too.

Grandpa had fallen and smashed his face into one of his fish that were supposed to be hanging on his wall.
He cut himself pretty good and had to get stitches.
Poor Grandpa!

After this incident, I started taking over his care and helping him with his meds and everything else.
His health has improved dramatically since then.

June 2021 Off to Arizona & Baseball Season

Joyanne was set apart as a missionary in June 2021.
She had spent 6 weeks doing home MTC.
The feeling in our house changed as we strived to make it a holy place for Joyanne to learn and study.

Two happy gals, excited for a great change.

Grant tried baseball this year and learned a thing or two.

James also played baseball and loved it!
James was finally happy to find a sport he could get in and love.

Memorial Day Weekend May 2021

We visited the cemeteries for Memorial Day weekend.
We love to visit Grandma Joyanne's grave each year and hear stories about her life.

 

Choir and Ochestra Concerts May 2021

Jaden sang in choir last year and enjoyed it.

He even ended up with an amazing solo.

He is quite the handsome kid!

James also played the Cello last year for his first year.

He learned a lot and especially learned how much he loves the cello.

He listens to piano guys all the time and admires them.

Maybe someday Joyanne and James will be a replica of the piano guys. 😉

 

Kite flying, New Rower, and the Nephite Bros! May 2021

We love to join the annual kite flying day that Rigby has every May.
Grant and James received new kites to try out.

The wind wasn't great for most of the day, but we got our kites up there for a little bit.

Daddy-O got a brand new rower from Melaleuca.
The rower has been his favorite way to work out this whole year since he got it.
He has rowed a million miles this year already.

And, here we have the Nephite bros!
Just 2 brothers messin' around and having fun with their ties.

Jaden and Hiram get along pretty well together mostly.
Movie watching has been fun for them.
