Bird Refuge

Since I'm one of the leaders over the Bear Scouts, I went with our boys to the Wild Bird Refuge.
The boys were able to hold a salamander and watch it be fed.

Did you know salamanders eat meal worms and crickets?

We went on a long walk outside seeing lots of bugs, worms, slugs and spiders, but very few birds.
We still had fun!

The boys helped me rake leaves, clean up the family room, and get their other chores done.

Daddy and I went on a date to see the play, "Clue".
It was a cute play.
Joyanne and Jaden came too, but they pretended not to be there and sat away from us so we could enjoy our date.

Field Trip Fun!

I went with Jaden on his class field trip to Hardware Ranch in Hyrum, Utah.
The kids had fun learning about wildlife and looking for signs of wildlife.
They saw beaver dams, birds nests, and a dead elk.
They identified different water bugs and insects.
They discovered many various plants in the area.
And they learned about the water table in our area.
Riding the bus was quite fun, especially when Jaden played games on my phone.

This afternoon we went trick-or-treating on main street.
All the boys for a good haul of treats.
While Daddy accompanied Joyanne to a North Utah Youth Symphony Retreat in Eden, Utah.

Piano Recital

Red Ribbon week has been fun at our home.
Doesn't Noah make a great hippie and Hiram, a handsome cowboy?!

Joyanne and I had our Halloween recital for our piano students.
All the boys played their pieces so well.
It's wonderful to see the students progressing.

Lots of Yellow Leaves

Nice, slick hair for these boys.
They have some crazy colors and were quite creative for Crazy Hair Day.

The leaves keep falling, and falling, and FALLING!
Daddy, Grant and I raked up this large pile of leaves.
We dumped them all in the garbage, only to come back a few hours later to see the grass covered with MORE leaves.
We even shook the branches to try to get them all down.
Guess we'll be raking more tomorrow.
I think we need a bigger garbage can. ;)

Crazy Hair, Violin Concert

I love these boys!
They asked me to spray their hair with some crazy colors for Crazy Hair Day.

The evening was spent at Joyanne's school orchestra concert.
She was concert master for her class where she helps tunes them.
She also had a solo at the beginning of one of their songs.
She played beautifully and perfectly.
She has been enjoying her orchestra class and even leads the class when her teacher has a substitute.
Good job, Joyanne!

Family Fall Festival

Our annual Family Party was a fun one.
Our theme was carnival.
Each family brought a game, prizes, and a side dish of delicious food.
There was a bounce house, popcorn, bobbing for apples, balloon dart pop, face painting, a toilet toss, a water bottle flipping contest, fishing, and a few other fun games.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
We were so happy to see everyone who came.
Another successful year!

A Silly Mask

My crazy Jaden!
He came home from school and wore this funny face mask for a while.
It looks good on him, don't ya think? 😉

We are now in the swing of our school routine.
The weekends are nice to change things up a bit.
Not many new things are happening to report.
No news is good news, right?
But, life is good overall!

Family Visit

We loved having Jeni and her family visit on Friday.
Noah performed a magic show for them.
We also had fun visiting and catching up with each other.

And Cozette is as playful as ever, still nipping and running around in circles.

Murder at the Pie Auction

Tonight was the last night of our play, "Murder at the Pie Auction".
Each night was a great show with a live pie auction.
Pies sold for up to $32.00.
The money went to helping the museum.
Daddy, Joyanne and I had fun being in the play together.
Who knew that Daddy was such a great actor!

Jog-a-thon

The kids had a Jog-a-thon today with some fun games and activities to participate in.
Jaden and James ran about 3 miles around the back of the school.
They got a lot of treats!

Crazy, Cute Cozette!

I just love this cute, crazy puppy!
She's a lot of work, but a great companion.
She loves walks to the park, to play with her toys, and get treats for her training.

With a head cold coming on strong for me, she snuggled on the couch with me while we watched the show, "Heartland".

Happy Life

Life has taken on an incredibly busy pace since school started.
Joyanne is participating in like 59 million things, from plays, to violin lessons, to piano lessons, to hanging out with friends.

Noah's been busy with friends, piano lessons, and school projects.
Hiram loves being at the Intermediate School and having his own locker and switching classes; and also getting involved in scouting.

Jaden loves his LEAP days at Fielding Elementary for the gifted and talented.
He's almost earned his Bear in scouting.

James is learning lots of Spanish in his Spanish immersion class, and he's enjoying school.

Grant is starting to read, rides a bike without training wheels, and loves taking bike rides to play at the park.

Daddy and I are busy with play practice, fulfilling our scout callings, and working.

So, life is busy, but happy!
