I have heard people say they don't celebrate Santa Clause because they feel it takes away from the true meaning of Christmas.
I very much disagree.
Santa is about giving presents anonymously, expecting nothing in return.
He gives presents because he loves us and wants to bring happiness to us.
This, to me, is the Spirit of giving.
This is the Spirit of Christ in whom we celebrate CHRISTmas.
This Santa, we met today, was one of a kind.
He had a real beard, mustache, and hair.
He had a twinkle in his eye and a gentle smile on his lips.
When the little toddlers and babies would cry on his lap, he would pull out his sleigh bells and jingle them.
Most of the kids liked that.
Then he gave a little treat.
We first saw him at the library for story time.
He read "The Polar Express" MEMORIZED.
He would show the picture and hold the book in front of him and then tell the story, word for word, memorized.
At the end, he talked about how important it is for the kids to believe in Santa.
He then spoke to the adults and told them how excited we should be for Christmas and to keep the spirit of Christmas alive.
He was so kind and gentle.
He reminded of Jesus, who was the most perfect in kindness and gentleness.
Who gave gifts, expecting nothing in return.
Who loves us more than we even love ourselves.
James asked for a Christmas Book.
Grant just wanted the candy Santa offered.
First a candy cane at the library and then some chocolate gold coins at our church tonight.
The same Santa twice!
Hiram asked for an Ipod.
Jaden asked for an Ipod.
Noah asked for money so we can go to Disneyland.
Joyanne asked for a harp.
We all loved visiting with Santa Clause.
He was a right, jolly old elf!
