A Sad Day for Our Truck

The day dawned bright and beautiful.
We said our family prayer praying for safety as we all went about our day.
Grant was asked to clean out the van.
James usually takes the van to work, but Grant told James he needed to take the truck.
James had only driven the truck in the driveway before.
As he headed down the road, his music on his phone stopped playing.
He adjusted his music on his phone to play a new playlist, while driving.
He continued driving.
When he turned onto a busier road, his phone slid across the seat and was about to fall off, but he grabbed it.
When he looked up, he was heading straight into the ditch.
Rather than slam on the brakes, he accidently slammed on the gas, which caused the truck to careen through the ditch and up the side.
Thankfully James was not seriously injured.
He had a burn on his left arm from the airbag deploying and a cut on his left leg.
Hendrickson's Towing came and was able to get the truck out, but the poor truck was totaled.
We ended up surrendering the truck to the towing place because they were going to charge us over $500 to pay for the towing.
As it was they charged us $350 just to surrender it to them.
Highway Robbery!!!
Too bad we only had liability insurance on the truck.
Now we are down a vehicle.
We will miss all the things that truck could haul for us.
