Never run down the stairs, or you might break your big toe . . . like Noah did.
He was having way too much fun with his cousin, Nathan, running around the house.
Then he somehow tripped down the stairs.
We heard loud moaning, and then the tears came.
Noah was in a lot of pain.
The left big toe just bled and bled.
We cleaned it up and put a bandaid on it and wrapped it.
Well, Noah stilled complained of pain Sunday evening and all of Monday.
On Tuesday he removed the bandages, and the pictures above are what we saw.
His left big toe was all crooked and he couldn't bend it up normally.
So to the doctors we went.
X-rays determined that his toe was broken along the growth plate.
While most broken toes heal themselves, we had to take Noah to an orthopedic surgeon to see what needed to be done.
Dr. Pedersen wrapped Noah's toe and have him a boot to wear for the next month.
He gets to use crutches for a week or two.
At first, Noah loved all the attention, but it got old quickly when he started getting a rash under his arms from hobbling around on crutches.
He also realized he had to stay off his feet as much as possible.
Sitting on the couch gets old pretty fast.
So, hopefully he learns his lesson not to run in the house, but, especially, not to run downstairs.
