Serving

About a week ago Joyanne and I sang a version of "I Need Thee Every Hour" in a nursing home for their Sacrament Meeting.
It's the first time we have sung together, just the 2 of us.

We also had the sister missionaries over for dinner.
They spoke in our Sacrament Meeting on service, and then spent the afternoon helping fill sandbags for the people whose homes were flooding in Elwood town.
They brought a wonderful spirit to our home.
They thought it was so cool to ride in a police car home.

Happy Valentine's Day (Late)

I meant to post these pictures on Valentine's day, but forgot.
Soooo . . . Daddy surprised us all and got us a Valentine's gift.
He decorated the table, and made these mugs filled with treats on his own.
We all felt so loved by him.

I made very big pink heart-shaped pancakes.
Valentine's Day is a great opportunity to share our love with everyone!
So . . . Happy Valentine's Day! (Just a few weeks late.)

Music

Noah was thrilled to get a birthday present a week early.
He has been wanting his own trumpet for a while now.

He sounds great when he plays his trumpet.

Joyanne played they piano for the Home and Garden show.
She sounded so beautiful.
On one of her classical songs a dancer got up and danced some ballet.

Tonight was Joyanne's concert for Northern Utah Youth Symphony.
The pieces were amazing.

Blue and Gold Banquet

The Blue and Gold Banquet was a fun success.
Lots of boys came.
Jaden earned his Forensics and Duty to God.
James earned his Bobcat, Duty to God, Running with the Pack, and his Cyber Chip.

The flooding in Tremonton and Garland is amazing.
Roads are blocked, homes and businesses are flooding.
The water just pools everywhere.
And we had more snow today.
May the Lord temper the elements and bless the people dealing with flooding.

Flooding in Tremonton

Flooding has been happening all over Tremonton and Garland.
Basements are flooded, streets are flooded, water is everywhere.
On the way of driving kids to school you can see hoses coming from people's basement windows pumping out water.

This evening we went to the fair grounds to help fill sand bags.
We were feeling happy to help out and unite with the community.
When we came home we noticed our basement floor soaked in a bedroom closet and the bathroom.
Thankfully we have no pools or puddles of water, and hopefully it stays that way.

Happy Birthday, James!

James turned 8 years old today.
He was excited to wake up and find his hidden presents.

He has been looking forward to getting all his scout stuff.
So he loved getting a scout uniform and a scout book.
He also liked his other presents as well.
We spent the afternoon going to the "Lego Batman Movie".
It was a great kids show, with some funny adult humor.
We all loved stuffing ourselves with yummy food from Pizza Pie Cafe.

James was anxious to get started on earning some scout awards, so he passed off activities to earn his Bobcat, Running with the Pack, and his Cyber Chip award all today.

Happy Birthday, James!

The Taming of LaRue

I was asked to direct a play, "The Taming of LaRue".
This cast was really amazing to work with.
I had fun and enjoyed directing the play.
I appreciated the great training I received from JuDean.

Joyanne played the piano for some background dinner music that everyone loved.
She also played a part it a skit, and she made the cutest cowgirl.

The show was a hit and very funny!

It was a nice, slow day at home for all of us.

Mending

I used to really dislike sewing and mending, but my sweet friend, Elizabeth Spotten, taught me how, and now I actually like sewing and mending.
I sewed a button on Daddy's shirt, fixed 2 holes in pants, sewed up the corners on Grant's blanket, and sewed up a hole on Jaden's stuffed snake.
A couple days ago I sewed up Jaden's ripped backpack and James' coat pocket.
I'm super mender now! ;)

Being a mother is great!
I've enjoyed cooking, cleaning and sewing this week.
I've loved spending time with my kids, helping them with homework, teaching them piano, and talking with them.
I'm grateful I get to be at home with my family.
I know being a mother is doing God's work.

Lost Puppy and A Sick Boy

Yesterday, on my way to the Intermediate school to drop off Noah's band instrument, some kids were surrounding and petting this cute puppy.
School was about to start and they didn't know what to do with the puppy.
I agreed to take it and try to find its owner.
So after stopping at the police station and sharing the info, and then posting the picture on facebook sites, I knew We would find the owner.
But the puppy was so cute and I even named him Ricky.
I was hoping we could keep him.
He was such a big puppy and he ended up peeing on the floor a couple times.
Possum and Cozette were not too thrilled with him.
The owner did call me and got him back.
In the end, I was glad not to have another dog to take care of.

Grant was sick all day with a fever and cough yesterday and today.
He liked watching lots of t.v.
Here's to hoping he feels better tomorrow . . . and that no one else gets it.
