Building Experiences

Joyanne had a piano competition at USU on Saturday.
It was a good experience.

Noah and I have had some good talks and good times lately.
It's important and good to build relationships with your kids.
Noah and I have been working on our relationship.

Daddy and I finally had some time together this afternoon.
We both have been so busy working and driving kids here and there.
I sure love this handsome man of mine.

A Camping We Will Go

Daddy took the boy scouts camping up at Peter Sinks in Logan Canyon.
Burrrrrrrr!!!
But they had a lot of fun, and actually stayed fairly warm through the night.
Gotta love "Hot Hands" hand warmers and tent heaters.

They did wake up to some food frozen, and their wet clothes had frozen stiff through the night.
But sledding was the best!

I went to my friend, Bridget's, family camp and Jaden, James, and Grant had fun running around and playing.
Grant climbed on top and said, "Take my picture."
Silly, shy boy in his mask.

Maddyx Brown had so much fun playing with Cozette the whole time we visited.

Driver's License and Hard Work

Joyanne got her driver's license.
She can drive on her own, and she is very excited to.

Noah spent the day doing LOTS of chores with me and for me.
First, he helped me clean out 2 horse stalls.
He then bathed Cozette, our little dog, sorted laundry, organized and cleaned out cupboards, cleaned out the disgustingly dirty fridge, cleaned out my linen closet, wiped down the washer and dryer, and organized and wiped out more cupboards.

Thank you, Noah, for all your hard work!

Family Fun at Crystal Hot Springs

We love to go swimming at Crystal Hot Springs!
The water is so warm and refreshing.
We had fun being together and playing simple games.
The water slides were thrilling to go down, but they didn't go to fast, so that was nice.

Our favorite game was to see how long we could hold our breath under water.
Dad could hold his breath for 52 seconds, Joyanne held hers 51, Noah was 36, Hiram was 33, and James was 24 seconds.

We sure didn't want to leave.
We'll have to go again another time.

Caring People

My mother-in-law called me this morning just to make sure all was well.
I appreciated the caring concern and enjoyed talking with her.

I was able to talk with my sister who lives in Texas for 2 hours.
I love and miss her so.

We are watching our friend's hamster while they go on a trip.
Cozette went crazy and excited to see this little creature running around.

Joyanne found out that she made the High School Madrigal Choir!
We are so excited for her on this adventure.

Trampoline Memories

Daddy and Grant had so much fun on the trampoline doing LOTS of flips and twists and aerials.
Noah has done a great job of teaching Grant all these tricks.
Now Noah's got Hiram joining his friends in all their tramp tricks too!

Spelling Bee 🏆 Champ

This year the Intermediate School hosted a spelling bee.
Hiram had won the class one, so he was eligible for the school bee.
He hardly studied until the night before when Dad pulled out the spelling list and started going over it with Hiram.
There were about 300 words to study.
Hiram probably studied close to 3 hours, but only got through the first 200 words.
He fell apart in tears and became upset, feeling like he had no chance of winning.
After being encouraged to pray, which he did, Hiram went to school with hope in his heart.
There were only about 15 contestants.
He made it through the first 2 rounds pretty easy, where half of the other Spellers got out.
He continued spelling his words right round after nervous round.
Finally it was down to just 2 of them.
The speller up spelled "grandiose" wrong, so Hiram took his turn and spelled it right. His next word was "barrette".
Would he remember the "e" at the end?
He did! And Hiram won the spelling bee!
He was so excited about his metal, his new cordless mouse, and his Bluetooth headset he won too!

Jazz Game Date

Daddy won us tickets to the Jazz game, so we went on a date.
They played the Seahawks.
We thought it would be an easy win for the Jazz, but it wasn't.
They were neck and neck the whole game, and the Seahawks won it in the end by one shot.
So, while it was sad the Jazz didn't win, Daddy and I had an awesome date and enjoyed being together.

Jordan River Temple Open House

We enjoyed seeing the inside of the Jordan River Temple.
Noah's comment was "When can I go here? When can I go through the temple?"
We missed Joyanne with us, but she has a very busy teenage life now with her music.
We enjoyed learning more about the temple and feeling close to the Spirit.
We are so blessed to be sealed as a family so we can live together forever.

Zoo in the Winter

A couple weeks ago, when it was snowing, we visited Hogle Zoo.
We've never been to the zoo in the winter.
The animals were quite active and playful.
They were fun to watch!

The trainers were out and we saw the elephants do some amazing things.

The zoo is always a fun place to go for all ages.

Happy Easter!

Beautiful day for an Easter egg hunt.
The kids were excited to go.
Grant and his friend, Jovie, were ready to run and collect the eggs.

James was having fun with his friends, Caleb and Tyce, while waiting.

Hiram and Jaden were happily waiting their turn to go.
All the kids received treats and enjoyed the hunt.
Easter morning was fun as the kids searched for their Easter baskets.
They were all pretty happy with their bounty.
Egg coloring had been fun the night before.
The best part about Easter this year was to be able to watch Conference and remember the real reason for Easter.
Watching the Solemn Assembly of our Prophet, Russell M. Nelson, being sustained in was a spiritual, special experience.
We are excited for all the new changes that are coming about in the church: a new prophet, 2 new apostles, High Priests and Elders forming to make a combined Elders Quorum, and no more home or visiting teaching - just Ministering where young women, aged 14-18, now get to be companions.
We are excited to engage in the work of the Lord, and we look forward to His second coming.
