Big Bubble Bath

I appreciate good visiting teachers who came and shared advice with me that I will apply.
I asked them what they did well in raising their kids.
One responded with having her kids report back to her that they completed the task she sent them to do.
The other told me how she taught her kids about the Atonement and Christ.

The 12 days of Christmas started and we are secretly giving to someone.
Tonight they received a nice ornament for their Christmas tree.
It's fun to give.

Jaden, James, Grant and Hiram enjoyed a big bubble bath.
Now they are squeaky clean!

Art Show

I finally found a coat and sweater for Cozette that didn't coat a fortune.
She sure looks cute in her outfits!

James had his art work placed in the school district art show.

Bridal Shower

Jaden, James, Grant and I took a trip to West Jordan for the day on Saturday.
First, we visited Great Grandpa Max.
We sang him a few songs, Jaden read a few poems, and we talked briefly.

Next we went to Aunt Linda's to help prepare food for Amy's Bridal shower, while the boys played with their cousins.

We ended our day at Grandma Burggraaf's for the Bridal shower.

Everything turned out tasty and very fun.

Noah gave a great talk in Sacrament meeting on "Light the World".
As a family, we are really enjoying performing simple service and trying to light the world.

Hugs

Hiram loves to give me hugs!
He often steps in front of me and says, "Before you pass this moment you must give me a hug."
I also love hugging this boy of mine.

My sister, Ann, had a birthday.
I still miss her a lot.
I hope she had a happy day in heaven.

Christmas City Celebration

At our city's Christmas celebration we went on a horse ride, earned some prizes from a ping pong ball drop and a candy cane hunt.

Daddy took the kids to see Santa.

Happy Unbirthday

See any holes in this scarf?
That's because I sewed them up.
Me!
Me, who doesn't sew.
Thanks to my friend Elizabeth Spotten who taught me how.
I also sewed a button on my jacket, too.
I took Grant with me and 2 friends to lunch.
He wanted to go to Taco Time, so that's where we went.
When we walked in, the owner and neighbor friend came up to us to say hi.
I told him it was a special day for Grant to be with my friends and I and he chose to have lunch at Taco Time.
The owner said Grant could have a free dessert because it was his birthday.
I was perplexed because it wasn't Grant's birthday.
Then, while we were eating, the owner and all his employees came and sang Happy Birthday to Grant.
A few minutes later the owner came back with 3 specialty bottles of "Atwood Ranch Dressing" and said they were for us because it was Grant's birthday.
I was surprised and said it wasn't Grant's birthday.
He misunderstood me when I said had  "special day" for birthday.
We all got a good laugh over the miscommunication.
There was a police officer who had come in and also thought it was Grant's birthday and gave him a toy police car.
Lucky Grant! Funny day!

Caught Unprepared

The last 2 weeks have been a bit of a blur as we have been dealing with Eric Ellsworth death.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving I was able to go with UHP and meet with the 16-year-old girl, Kassee, who accidently hit Eric.
We all expressed our love, gave her flowers, and let her know it was just an accident.
Eric's brother also came and expressed love and forgiveness.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Daddy's parents and family.
It was refreshing and fun to see family we haven't seen for a while.
Here's the veggie turkey platter I created off of Pinterest.

Friday I spent helping make ribbons for the funeral.
The viewing was Tuesday, and we took the kids.
Wednesday was the funeral.
Being apart of the procession was amazing as so many people stood outside in support of this hero, Trooper Ellsworth.
Daddy was an honorary pallbearer.
Hearing the last call for 395, which was Eric's number, brought tears to many eyes, including my own.

Here's Daddy that evening, just resting from everything.
