Little Kids and Big Kids

A time not so long ago, I had a small family like this.
Life was simpler, just changing diapers, reading to kids, and playing puzzles and blocks together.

Now my kids are a little bit older and I have a couple more.
With bigger kids, the problems they have are a little bigger too.
Five boys makes our home loud, wild and craaaaazy!
They sure love to run around and tackle each other.
But, as Noah said to me today, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."
I watched Daddy join in their fun and run around the house with Jaden today.
It's more fun to run around and play with the kids, then spend my days getting after them.

I love my family and feel blessed to be apart of such talented, caring people.

Cooking

What a wonderful Sabbath day!
We fasted for our home in Grant, Idaho to sell and for Christen.
We all enjoyed church and felt the wonderful spirit there.
It's nice to go and be uplifted each week at church and try to learn ways to better ourselves.

The boys have fun taking turns and pulling each other around for rides.
This home has been great with the hard floors for running around and sliding on.
Grant rides his little bike all over it.

Daddy made delicioso Spanish tortillas for dinner.
Joyanne made yummy cookies.
I absolutely LOVE Daddy being home.
The kids love him home too.
He brings a tranquil peace and great sense of humor to life.

Peach Days

This was my view on my 6 mile run from Tremonton to Deweyville.
Views like this make me really happy to run.
The smell of skunk made me a little nervous.
Grant looks cute, especially after he's just woken up.

Brigham City celebrated "Peach Days" this weekend.
We sat in front of the Brigham City Temple to enjoy the parade.
We have been to more parades this year than ever before.
But the kids never get tired of collecting the candy, especially if it means we get to play "Candyland" with it.

This evening, the Tremonton library hosted an activity about the moon.
The kids did several activities revolving around the moon.
Their favorite was probably making rockets and shooting them off.

When it grew dark, we watched a "Movie at the Park" night.
"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs II".
It was a very full an very fun day!

Cousin Time

On Fridays Joyanne takes piano lessons from her Aunt Carol.
Aunt Carol is amazing with her teaching ability.
Joyanne is talented in her own way with the piano.
One of the positive sides of this is the kids all get to play with their cousins.
Joyanne had her cousins come home and showed them the loft in her room.

Noah can often be found in this position reading his book for a long while.
He's one of my good readers.

Spoiled

Joyanne had fun brushing my hair and braiding it tonight.
It felt so nice to have her brush through my hair.

Noah came up and massaged my shoulders and scratched my back.
I got spoiled and loved it!

I joined a women's choir called Reflections.
They are a nice group of ladies and a great director.
I love to sing and am glad to be working on music.

Two more days until Daddy gets to be home with us for 6 days!
I. Can't. Wait.!!!

Enough said.

James' First Day of Kindergarten

James had his first day of Kindergarten with his teacher, Mrs. Michaelis.
He was excited ALL morning.
When I dropped James off at school, Grant cried.
Grant had his backpack with him, ready to follow and join James in his class.
The teacher even asked if he was a student.
But as I carried Grant to the car, he leaned his head on my shoulder and said, "I want James."
Grant was so excited when he woke up from his nap to go pick up James.
He missed his buddy and playmate.

It was different to only have one child home for a couple of hours.
But that couple of hours went fast!

And, the song I want to dedicate to Daddy, far away in Vernal is . . .
"Wishing you were somehow near again.  Wishing you were somehow near.  Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed, somehow you would be here."
I love you, my dear best friend!
