Jaden's 7th Birthday

Happy 7th Birthday, Jaden!!!

Jaden had a fun birthday.

He was so excited to receive the Perplexus, a maze ball with a marble that winds it's way through.

The game is quite challenging, just what Jaden loves.

 

Strawberry Cake was Jaden's choice of birthday cake.

 

We are so glad Jaden is with us this year and that we are not mourning his passing.

Just a little over 2 years ago, Jaden almost drowned.

We feel so lucky to have our smart, little boy who brightens up our lives.

 



Best Shooters

The boys had fun going shooting with their daddy on the target range for practice.

Daddy, of course, had the best shot. 

I, even, shot a couple times.

Boy, did my kickback throw me way off target.

And I can now say, I have actually shot a gun with real ammo in it.

But I had more fun watching my boys shoot with their daddy. :) 

 

The day ended fun with going swimming with the family AND the scouts!

Mommy Musings

The Musings of a Mom

I love being mom to my wonderful six kids.

The good times far outweigh the bad times.

Grant threw a huge fit in the library and in the car.

But he helped clean up his water spill and helped put away the dishes.

He says cute things all the time for a 2-year-old, like when he came around the corner and said, "Hi! What's your name?"

When I asked him the same question back, he said "Gant".

When I asked him how old he was he said, "Toooo".

He's learning and growing.

He is my baby and I ask him, "Do you want to be a big boy or stay my baby forever?"

He sometimes says "big boy" and sometimes he says "baby".

That truly is what is holding me back from potty-training him.

Daddy says it's high time, and Grant is surely showing signs of interest.

He's even pooped and peed in the toilet a time or two.

But I'm not ready for my last baby to grow up.

I have set a date though.

April 14th is when I will start.

Then I won't have a baby anymore. :(



Good Things

A sunny day for biking and blading.

 

It's been a busy day too.

But a busy day doing good things.

Piano lessons, homework, cleaning and cooking.

Sounds like a regular Monday. 

Fantasy Canyon

We enjoyed a nice Sunday drive out to Fantasy canyon.

The kids loved it and we plan to go spend a whole day there one of these days.

We heard it was a nice gentle walk.

Though it wasn't quite the calm, reverent Sunday activity we were hoping for, it was nice to get out and enjoy Heavenly Father's beautiful creations.

The day was a happy one with time well spent together.

The kids even ate all their dinner, which was grilled Salmon, grilled potatoes, onions, red and yellow peppers and pineapple.

Working Weekend

Yay for the weekend!

But not yay.

Daddy gets to work all weekend. :(

He came home from work this evening and went straight to bed.

Poor guy is really not feeling well, with a headache and tummy ache.

I'm glad he can rest, but I miss spending time with him.

 

We watched the movie "Ghostbusters" tonight.

The kids liked seeing all the ghosts, especially Slimer.

Books

I got all dressed and ready for the day so I thought I would take a picture of me looking good. :)

 

Our school's book fair was "buy one, get one free."

The kids were so excited when I walked in the door with new books.

It was like Christmas.
