Yellowstone May 2024

This spontaneous guy decided on Friday, May 17th, that we should go to Yellowstone since we all had a free day.

The most exciting part of our trip was seeing a grizzly bear, which dad claimed from the beginning of our visit that we would see one.

We saw some beautiful waterfalls.

May is a good time to go see the waterfalls because the water is the highest.

We saw so many buffalo with the cool May weather.

We enjoyed seeing the baby buffalo as well.

Grandpa and Dad saw 2 elk just off the side of the road while they were driving.

Mammoth Hot Springs had lots of white rock.

There weren't too many elk around, so it was fun to see them with their velvet horns.

We picnicked for lunch at Mammoth Hot Springs, but the shops were expensive, especially the ice cream; $6 for one tiny scoop.

When we saw the bear, the road was crammed with cars and people.

When Dad said we would see a bear at the entrance to Yellowstone, he claimed that a bear would cross the road in front of us. Mom said if a bear crossed the road in front of us, she would take Dad out to dinner and let him pay. 😂

Mom got really close to a buffalo that was across a fence.

The Towers waterfall was quite amazing and could be seen from many viewpoints and angles.

Grandpa enjoyed going as far as he could to see the beautiful views.

James had 2 of his teeth extracted to help with his extensive overbite.

We love Elison and Wood Orthodontics.

They do a good job!

Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day!

 

Mother's Day was a happy one with such a gorgeous day to enjoy.

We sat out on our porch nearly all day, having meals outside, too.

Grant sure loves jumping on the trampoline, doing tricks.

We enjoyed just sitting on our deck.

We made a recipe from a Facebook post called Breakfast Burrito Bites.
They turned out ok.

For Dad's birthday we played Disc Golf and Tennis. 
The day was so much fun as he got birthday cards and lots of hugs.

We tried to sneakily decorate his truck, but he caught us.
We still decorated it anyway.

Beautiful day for disc golf and fun to play all together.

We watched 2 Star Wars movies today. 

We also enjoyed Freeman Park, disc golf and a nice walk.

I was able to get out today and have some time for myself, which I spent shopping at the dollar store.

Grandpa had a pacemaker put in this week.

His hospital food was actually yummy.

We ate at Chili's the day before Grandpa got a pacemaker put in. 

James had teeth 5 and 12 extracted, the teeth behind his canines on top, to get prepared for braces this next week.

He liked the laughing gas. His gums bled for 2 hours afterward.
