Fun Getting Things Done

We've had so much fun the past few days that it was nice to stay home and just get things done around the house.
Exercising at the Rec Center was relaxing and fun.

Getting shopping done went smoothly and quickly.
But I'm still struggling a bit with where to shop.
Groceries are a bit more costly here.
Walmart is here, but honestly we've had 4 gallons of their milk go sour before the expiration date.
Cold stuff is not great from there.
I have kind've taken to Davis Food and Drug.
It kinda reminds me of Broulim's in Idaho, and it has Western Family brand, but it's still expensive.

Father's Day gifts are all taken care of.
(Thanks Mike and Linda for the great idea.)

Piano lessons were taught to Jaden, Hiram, and Noah.
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Bills for the piano.
It's getting well used. :)

And we ended the day with a party.
We played the game "Twister" from Aunt Jeni. (Thank you!)
And then we watched "Home Alone 3".
Between 6 of us we ate a box of Junior Mints, a small bag of Gummy Bears, a small bag of chewy sour sweethearts, and some sour licorice bites.

Now after hiding the Father's Day gifts, and getting a whiff of a stinky skunk . . . we are off to bed.

Josie's Cabin

We had a library reading activity, but it made us miss our quiet, more personal library back in Idaho.
They did a craft and gave otter pops at the end.
The library was overcrowded.
Apparently it's popular though.

We hiked to some more petroglyphs this afternoon.
Hot day!
We were excited to have spotted a baby rabbit in a little cave by these petroglyphs.

We went back through Dinosaur National Monument to Josie's Cabin.
We hiked a mile through this beautiful grassy, shady area toward this mountain.
After the hike, we explored Josie's Cabin.
It was neat to be able to go inside and see how simple Josie lived all by herself from 60 years old to 90.

When we loaded in the car, I told Daddy I was hot and sweaty.
He replied that I didn't need to sound so arrogant.
When I questioned him about being arrogant he said, "I know you're hot and sexy, but you don't have to brag."
Ha ha ha!  What a funny guy!
I love my handsome, charming husband.

Scout Day Camp, Dino Museum, Library

I went with Noah to Day Scout Camp today.
We both had fun making rope, shooting BB Guns, popping up bottle rockets, and enjoying time with the other scouts.

Daddy-O took the rest of the kids to the Dinosaur Museum and they LOVED it!
Jaden especially loved taking pictures and having his picture taken.

We all sat in the library this afternoon either reading or playing on the computer.
We had so much fun in the nice air conditioned library.
Grant had fun running around too.

The Good and the Bad

Noah had his front tooth pulled at the Dentist today.
He tried all in May to wiggle it out, but to no avail.
The root of the tooth was quite long and the tooth was infected.

Joyanne, Noah, Hiram and Jaden all went to the dentist today.
Surprisingly no one had any cavities.
Hooray!

Ambree was a wonderful babysitter while I took Joyanne to the Dentist.
What a sweet, kind neice I have.

Ambree is a harp player.
She plays beautifully.
She let everyone play around on the harp carefully after they washed their hands.
James had fun plucking the strings.

I feel lonely today.
I miss my friends from back home.
I miss doing play groups and just visiting with them.
I miss seeing familiar faces.
Moving is hard.

I'm trying to stay upbeat and positive, but sometimes I would like a good friend to sit down and talk to.
Thank you friends from Idaho for making it so memorable and wonderful.

Grant has had a runny nose for a week and a half now.
He's a fussy baby tonight.
No fun!

On a happy note, I finished reading "Edenbrooke" by Julianne Donaldson.
This was a romance book.
I loved it!
I finished it in one day and couldn't put it down.
I think I'm a hopeless romantic. ;)

Bouncin' Fun and Gettin' Nails Done

We put up our bounce house for the first time here.
The kids and their cousins loved jumping and playing in the sprinkler that squirted the slide.

We said goodbye to the cousins this afternoon.
We were sad to see them go.

BUT, Ambree was able to stay for as long as she wants.
She is a calming influence in our home.
She is very sweet and Christlike.
Joyanne and Ambree had fun tonight painting their nails.
Cute girls!

Fireproof

First of all, I want to say I love my husband.
He is everything to me.
He makes me smile, laugh and feel oh, so loved.
He is a good man!
Thank you for being everything to me.

Tonight we watched the movie "Fireproof".
If you haven't seen this movie, it's a must-see.
It's PG and created by a Christian Religion.
It talks about marriage and that you never leave your partner, especially in a fire.
Prince Charming and I weren't really struggling in our marriage when we saw this, but our marriage was strengthened as we applied the principles from it.
Can't say enough about it, but I really like this movie.
I also have the book "The Love Dare" which goes along with it.

I've relearned how selfish I am at times and instead of always thinking about me, me, me . . . I need to have an attitude of gratitude and count my blessings.
I do feel truly blessed!
I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who watches out for me and loves me.
I know He loves you too!

Dinosaur National Monument

We feel really blessed to have such great hiking places right in our backyard.
Dinosaur National Monument was a short 20 minute drive away.
A whole indoor mountainside wall was filled with bones.
We took a little hike and saw some bones on the mountainside.
The colors that filled the landscape were absolutely amazing.

Swimming at the Rec Center is always very fun for our family.
We love all the slides, the splashing water, the lazy river, and the diving boards.

We have really enjoyed time with Carol and her family, their cousins.
Hiking, swimming, eating, playing and sleeping have all been very fun and exciting.
We love our family.

We have a lot to offer now if anyone wants to come for a visit.
You can go hiking, fishing, boating, rafting, camping and see lots of dinosaur museums and monuments.
So give us a call and let us know if ya wanna fun vacation!
