Lagoon Again

The kids were excited to do another fun day at Lagoon.
We had fun going around together as a family.
If you're gonna go to Lagoon on a Saturday, going from 10am to noon is the best time.
The lines were short and we could get a lot of rides in.
But at noon there were a lot of people coming in.
By 2 or 3 pm, we were waiting in line for about 45 minutes to get on a ride.

Going with cousins is always fun and it was wonderful to have new ones join us today.
My brother, John and his kids We're with us.
We had a long day at Lagoon, but it was fun.

Creative Fun

Noah and Hiram participated in a Pentathlon at their school today.
They did a basketball shot, a 40 yard dash, a soccer goal kick, a soft ball throw and a football throw.
Hiram had lots of fun being outside and being active.
Noah won the basketball shoot, making 12 baskets in a minute, and running the 40 yard dash in 6.34 seconds.
Grant, James and I came to watch.
Funny boys pretended to be sleeping while I took the picture.

Joyanne spent some time this afternoon creating a maze game on the computer for the kids to do.
Jaden was particularly excited to try it out.
He LOVES mazes.

Bobcat Jaden

Jaden was awarded his bobcat tonight at Pack Meeting.
Way to go, Jaden!
Jaden is liking scouts and doing well.
We had fun playing games and eating healthy foods at scouts.
I love having my boys in scouts.

In the Running

Joyanne surprised us with her desire to run for Vice President for 8th Grade.
She made her own poster.
We wish her the best of luck and know she will make a great Vice President!

Grant asked me to come jump with him on the tramp.
My first thought was all the things I had to do.
But then I looked into his eyes and knew I didn't want to miss making memories with Grant.
He kept asking me to bounce him high, where he would bound up high and fall on his bum or knees, laughing.
We played "Dead Man" and practiced tricks.
Then we came inside and snuggled together on the couch.
We pretended to go fishing off the side of the couch with a yo yo string and then ate the fish, which swam around in our tummies full of water. ;)
Then Grant pretended to fish for fishy fruit snacks.
I loved spending such happy moments with my little one.

Pain

Sunday Night, Grant woke up crying. 😢
Noah came in telling us Grant fell off his bed and was bleeding.
When I checked on Grant, I called Jade in saying it was serious.
His head was cut by a screw he fell on.
He was crying pretty good and continued to do so until we bandaged him.
We kept him up an hour to keep watch on him, then woke him a couple times to check on him.
By morning he had taken off his bandage saying he was all better.

Yesterday, when at the cemetery, my dad was climbing up some cement steps and tripped.
His face slammed into the steps, causing his glasses to push into his face.
He broke his nose and ended up with stitches in 2 or 3 different places.
A lot of skin was scraped off his nose.
He will probably have to have a plastic surgeon do some work with his nose once he's healed up a bit.
We sure love my dad and are praying for a quick recovery.

Lagoon Season

We decided to get season passports to Lagoon this year since we have family that has season passports as well.
The kids were so excited to be going to Lagoon, yesterday.
But what was even more exciting was that they got to go with their cousins.
We all enjoyed the rides and had a blast.
The little bit of rain we received wasn't a deterrent either.
We just got on the train ride and stayed dry,
We also brought ponchos.

We are excited to go to Lagoon many times this summer.

Flooding

With all the wonderful rain we've been receiving, our downstairs southeast corner bedroom has now flooded twice.
We had special fans brought in to dry out the pad and carpet.

Trying to solve where and how the water is getting in is a mystery.
But we did discover that if we clean out our rain gutters, then we don't get flooding anymore.
So guess what Daddy did?

While Daddy cleaned rain gutters, Grant filled his water gun and sprayed everything in sight, including me. ;)

Honors Daughter

Because Joyanne received straight honors in life skills, we were able to go to "Breakfast with Champions."
The school made a pretty good breakfast for us, parents, and the Honors students.
Then there was a ceremony where Joyanne received a medal.

Way to go, Joyanne, for your hard work!

Knife Wound

Oowee! Last night when I was trying to pet up a frozen peanut butter bar with a knife, it slipped and I punctured my hand.
Yes, I cried.
Jade came out and helped me bandage up.
It has ached most of the day.
I took off the bandaid just now to take a look at it.
It still hurts.
But I'm sure it'll heal soon.

Science Project

Noah has been great at working on his science project and turned it in today, 4 days early.
He dyed a drink 2 different colors and had over 30 people taste test to see if they could tell what the drink actually was.
He was trying to prove that color does effect taste.
Not very many people actually guessed a h at the drink was.
Could you?

Cooking Yummy!

Yesterday, I came home from ward choir practice to our skillet filled with 6 cheese sandwiches.
Joyanne took her own initiative to make lunch by herself.
She forgot to butter the bread, but they still cooked fine and were tasty.
She asked me if the tomato soup on the stove looked okay.
It looked a little funny, so I asked to see the can, only to discover she had put tomato sauce in the pan instead of soup. ;)
It was still wonderful to see Joyanne helping out and cooking.

Crash!

A couple days ago James crashed while riding Hiram's bike.
He had blood oozing out by his eye.
When Daddy saw him, blood was dripping down his face.
After cleaning him up, we found a deep cut just underneath his eye.
Out came the skin bonding glue.
Dad carefully put one drop onto the cut.
But the glue spread to the corner of James' eye, which stung a bit.
The glue dried fast and the corner of James' eye was glued shut as well.
A neighbor said the glue would wear off in a week.
So, here's James a few days after the bike crash; still alive and doing well.  ;)

Darling Lily

Lily is 18 months and just so cute that you  get a picture overload of her.
She and I had fun bouncing and me tickling her.
Gotta love the staticky hair sticking straight up.

Lily found some goggles and wanted them put on.
What silly "goo goo goggles"!

Now my 2 nieces and nephew are gone home.
All of us here enjoyed them so much and can't wait until we see them again.
The house is sure quiet without 3 extra little ones.

Bubble Blowers

I couldn't resist taking a picture of sweet Emma while she was sleeping.
Her tiny hands clasped together were so cute.

After baths, these girls looked so clean and cute.

We enjoyed blowing bubbles, and our dog, Possum, would jump up and bite the bubbles.
The kids loved it.

The bounce house was great in the afternoon to let the kids bounce out their energy.
Several neighborhood kids came over to join in the fun.

I love being a mom and really have enjoyed taking care of my sister's kids this week.
I couldn't have done so well without the immense help of my husband.
